Beauty Series: Humanity

Human kindness sometimes feels rare in today's world but it does exist.

One day I pulled into the gas station and I had to put air in my tires, which is a task I really don’t like doing. There was a man there already putting air in his tires. I got annoyed because now on top of the task I hated, I had to wait to get it done. I smiled at him anyway because it isn’t his problem I am in a mood. After he finished putting air in his tires, he brought the hose over to my car and without a word he started putting air in my tires. He didn’t speak English. He just smiled and went about the task as if it was his job to help me out. I was so thankful I hugged him he just said, “De Nada.” It was such a simple thing he did, yet I will never forget this person and how he was a part of restoring my faith in humanity.
When you do something kind and giving for someone else, it is much more gratifying than anything you could ever do for yourself. Giving without expectation is a high value and is one of the most rewarding experiences imaginable. I encourage you to do something for someone else today. Anything! There are so many people in need. It is the easiest thing in the world. Give food to the homeless. Help a friend. Give a flower to a stranger. You will be amazed at the love it will fill you with. To serve others with love is the most beautiful gift I know.
I will ask myself daily:
“How can I serve?” and “How can I help?” The answers to these questions will allow me to help and serve my fellow human beings with love.

The images below are powerful examples of the beauty I see in Humanity. The more love you give, the more love you can receive.
